Pokerfest Comes to Party Poker April 22nd

Starting April 22nd, Party Poker will be giving away $3.5 million in guaranteed prizes over 47 events in the second Pokerfest. The series will culminate with a $1 Million guaranteed Main Event on May 6th. Players can buy-in directly for $640 or qualify via satellites.

Merge Gaming and Cake Poker Leave the State of Utah

Last month, Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed a preemptive bill that banned online gambling in the state, even if a U.S. federal bill were to pass Congress. As a result, two top U.S. facing rooms have begun to restrict players from registering accounts in Utah. Yesterday, a Carbon Poker Rakeback-Account rep confirmed that the poker room has stopped accepting new sign-ups. Today, we received word that Cake Poker (the internet's third largest U.S. facing network) has followed suit.

Utah is one of two states in the United States -- the other one being Hawaii -- that does not allow any land-based legalized gambling so it is no surprise that Utah has taken this step. Boss Media Players Can Now Play On Mac

Through a recently released upgrade to the Boss Network software, players on a Mac can now play on a "Instant Play" version of the software on all Boss Network sites including Poker Heaven, Interpoker, Fortune Poker and Paradise Poker. Bovada Closes Washington State Account

Bovada, the U.S. brand for the Bodog Network, closed the accounts of all Washington State players today. Last month, Bovada placed restrictions on player accounts in Washington State. They stopped allowing new player registrations, as well as removing the ability for players in the state to deposit. The same was done for players in Utah and New York. On the same day, Maryland player accounts were closed. Now Washington State players are experiencing that same fate. Below is the email sent to Bovada players.
